Hot stone massage increases circulation as well by assisting the body in self healing. The deep pressure that is achieved from the heat of the stones allows the muscles to release tension, eases stiffness, relieves pain and allows the therapist to sink deeper into the tissue and belly of the muscle.
Hot stone massage has been found to be effective for chronic pain issues like Arthritis, Lyme and other autoimmune diseases. Heated stones have been very effective in producing an almost sedative effect. Additional effects include reducing stress and anxiety, promoting better sleep and overall feeling of health.
